J. R. Reding Antique Restoration Gallery
John Reding has work to do at his restoration and refinishing facility in Nalley Valley. He has completed projects waiting to be delivered, projects waiting to begin and projects for sale.
Over the years John has collected various pieces of excellent furniture that he knows he wants to restore in the future. Some of those pieces have no place to go once complete. And some lucky visitors can even find great furniture they can buy from John to have refinished for their own home.

This three-piece set (loveseat, chair, and rocking chair) has been stored at J.R. Reding for years. The maple pieces have been stained mahogany. The owner just recently chose fabric (a rich gold pattern) and gemp. If the owner can't find room in their home for the antique set, this ensemble might be offered for sale. If this set is offered for sale, John is considering using it as a display at the Lawn and Garden Show at the Tacoma Dome in late January.

Rescued from the original Paradise Lodge at Paradise on Mt. Rainier, the oak and leather chair was refinished and is usually hidden away in John's maze of wooden furniture. Note the two inserts of photographs from 1917 when the lodge was first opened. This chair is truly a piece of local history. It is for sale.

This one-of-a-kind Victorian is actually two-of-a-kind. A client is having two matching chairs restored by John. The pains-taking work is a through back to a time when upholsterers would have a mouthful of tacks and a tack hammer. The hardware is original and these two pieces will be fantastic pieces of art when complete.

Here's John Reding at the end of a busy day. His office is a small museum of collectable pieces that reflect his interests. If you're lucky, you could take a tour of his facility and then join him in his office. John has one only one place for a visitor to sit: a turn of the century barber's chair. It's a comfortable place to relax and drink a cup of coffee with John.
